NSC Staffing id seeking experienced Journeyman Welders to perform welding, repair, overhaul, and manufacturing work on government components and U.S. Navy submarines. Qualified candidates must be proficient in GMAW Spray and GMAW Pulse welding and have experience performing Class 1 and Class 3 UT welds.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced marine welders with a strong background in shipyard or Navy work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding, repair, overhaul, and manufacturing of government components.
  • Perform welding operations onboard U.S. Navy submarines.
  • Perform GMAW Spray and GMAW Pulse welding.
  • Perform Class 1 and Class 3 UT welds.
  • Maintain required weld qualifications for applicable processes.
  • Read and interpret welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform quality work while following all safety and shipyard requirements.
  • Provide and maintain personal tools required for the trade.
  • Work assigned day or night shifts based on project requirements.
  • Work up to 11 hours per day, Monday through Saturday.
  • Follow all required safety, PPE, and respiratory protection procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of verifiable welding experience; Journeyman-level experience preferred.
  • High school diploma/GED, trade school, industrial school, military training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be proficient in:
    • GMAW Spray.
    • GMAW Pulse.
    • Class 1 UT welds.
    • Class 3 UT welds.
  • Must have current and verifiable welding qualifications applicable to the required processes.
  • Must be able to test in Chesapeake, VA.
  • Previous shipyard, marine, Navy, or submarine experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to work safely in industrial and shipboard environments.

You will work in shipyards, aboard vessels, or industrial settings where attention to detail, quality work, and adherence to safety protocols are essential. Projects will involve hands-on welding and supervision of helpers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors and may vary from the posted range.
